Yesterday, Elisse Walter was sworn in as a new commissioner of the United States Securities and Exchange Commissioner. She was appointed by President Bush on June 30th, and recently confirmed by the US Senate. Prior to taking this position, Walter was the Senior Exec. VP at FINRA, over Regulatory Policy and Programs. She had previously served at the SEC and CFTC.
